The Mayro Building

Built in 1915, The Mayro Building was designed by architect Linn Kinne, and the vision of Arthur Maynard & Julius Rothstein. Two local businessmen that had a vision for a modern office building in the heart of downtown Utica.

Completed and rebranded to “The M” in 2024, the development team of Lahinch Group, Morrisroe Lynn Development, Stephen Surace, Ron Cuccaro and BBL Construction Inc, converted the 6-story building into 55 market-rate apartments and ground floor retail and commercial space.

Given the blight and environmental challenges of the property; the project was selected by Governor Hochul as a Special Project under Restore NY VI. The M is now a prime example of adaptive re-use in downtown Utica.
