Ellwanger Barry Building

Completed in 2024, the development team of Lahinch Group, Braxton Capital and Morrisroe Lynn Development, completed a certified historic rehabilitation of the Ellwanger & Barry Building, listed on both the National Register and the New York State Register. The building is located at 39 State Street, in the City of Rochester.

Built in 1888, The Ellwanger & Barry Building was designed by the architectural firm of Warner & Brockett, this is one of Rochester’s early skyscrapers that was engaged in a “skyscraper war” to become the city’s tallest building.

This rehabilitation converted the 8-story building into 64 market-rate apartments and ground floor retail and commercial space. The project is a key piece to the resurgence of the Four Corners Neighborhood in downtown Rochester.
